TALLINN, March 7 (Nikolai Adashkevich, RIA Novosti) –
Estonian President Arnold Ruutel is unlikely to come to Moscow for the May 9
events marking the 60th anniversary of VE-Day. He disclosed this at a Sunday
meeting with Prime Minister Juhan Parts, Foreign Minister Rein Lang, and Toomas
Hendrick Ilves, the deputy chairman of the commission for foreign affairs of the
European Parliament.
According to the Estonian radio, the president will officially announce his
decision to Konstantin Provalov, Russia’s ambassador in Estonia, on Monday
morning, and to the public at noon.
Foreign Minister Lang may attend the celebrations if the Russian authorities
send him an official invitation.
