First Channel, Rossiya to Broadcast Victory Parade

MOSCOW, May 4 (RIA Novosti) – The May 9 Victory Parade in Moscow’s Red Square will be broadcast live by the First Channel and Rossiya, representatives of the national television companies have told RIA Novosti.

The parade, attended by over 8,000 people, will be broadcast from 10.00 a.m., the First Channel’s press service reported.

“Rossiya will definitely have a live broadcast from Red Square,” said Vesti’s press secretary Maria Bezborodova.

The First Channel will also broadcast live a theatrical performance of global celebrities in Red Square titled “Bowing to Those Great Years.”

According to the First Channel’s press service, singers Iosif Kobzon, Lev Leshchenko, Alla Pugacheva, Dmitry Khvorostovsy and Mireille Mathieu will participate in the event. The concert will end with a salute at 10 p.m.
Following the tradition, the First Channel will have no ads on May 9.
