Guseva) – Great Patriotic War veterans residing at Kamchatka will go to
the Rodygino army firing range in the outskirts of

Russian Northeast Forces Group, about 20 veterans invited by the group’s command
will come to the range to see advanced materiel – tanks, armoured personnel
carriers (APC), antiaircraft guns and field artillery guns – operated in a show
of combat techniques. After visiting the range and meeting
servicemen, Col. Vladimir Samoylov, Chief of the Coastal Defense Forces of the
Northeast Forces Group, will invite the veterans to “a frontline tent” to treat
them to solders’ food and “combat 100 grams” of vodka, the spokesman said.
The Northeast Forces Group has taken care of the veterans residing in
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vilyuchinsk, Yelizovo, etc., within the framework of
preparation for celebrating the 60th anniversary of VE-Day.
The veterans have paid a visit to the Omsk submarine at the Rybachy naval
base (Vilyuchinsk) and to regular Air Force and Air Defense Force units in the
vicinity of the town of Yelizovo. They also have gone to sea on a minesweeper
and a small antisubmarine warfare (ASW) ship to see ASW training of the Pacific
