Mireille Mathieu Will Perform in Moscow May 9

PARIS, April 27 (RIA Novosti correspondent Andrei Nizamutdinov) - Famous French singer Mireille Mathieu will perform in Moscow on May 9 during a gala concert dedicated to the VE-Day anniversary, announced France-Inter radio, quoting sources close to the singer.

The sources reported that Mathieu, who is well known in Russia, had been invited to Moscow by Russian authorities and gladly accepted the invitation. They said she would be exited to perform during the concert on Red Square in the presence of numerous state leaders and government officials.

She will sing songs in Russian and French.

In the beginning of April, Mathieu released a double-album containing her best songs recorded throughout the 40 years of her illustrious career. The singer plans to release her 38th album by the end of this year. The album contains new recordings and songs from her tour around France, including the performance at the famous Olympia Hall in Paris.
