PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, March 29 (RIA Novosti correspondent
Yekaterina Kolch) – Kamchatka’s veterans of the Great Patriotic War,
who need to improve their living conditions, will be able to move to the
regional center, Larisa Bobrovnik, the vice governor, told RIA Novosti on
Tuesday.
“Our budget allocations this year include appropriations for moving five
veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who live in difficult rural conditions,”
said Bobrovnik.
According to her, the program for moving veterans in Kamchatka has been in
effect for a few years now, though previously money was allocated for one or two
flats a year. The vice-governor also specified that the veterans would be moved
to Petropavlovsk before September 3.
Kamchatka’s veterans can also improve their living conditions in accordance
with the government program.
“The health ministry has asked us to make the list of war veterans who live
in poor conditions. We have prepared these documents together with the regional
council of veterans and have already sent them to Moscow,” said Bobrovnik.
According to her, this list includes 27 veterans of the Great Patriotic War
who live in Kamchatka.
