The troops of the 2nd BELARUSSIAN Front, forcing the DIWENOW Strait north of STETTIN, seized the town of WOLLIN and the settlements of LUSKOW, KORTENTIN, JARMBOW, KODRAM, REBERG, GROSS and KLEIN MOKRATZ, SOLDEMIN. North of the town of WITTENBERGE, the troops of the front, pursuing the offensive, seized the towns of STERNBERG, LUBZ, PARCHIM, GRABOW and the large settlements of DABEL, DEMEN, GOLDENBOW, RADUN, SPORNITZ, BLIEVENSTORF, ZIRZOW, LENZEN.
On May 3, the troops of the front took 22,000 Nazi men and officers prisoner and captured 240 enemy aircraft at aerodromes. The troops of the 1st BELARUSSIAN Front, attacking south of the city of BRANDENBURG, took by force the towns of BELZIG, WIESENBURG, NIEMEGK, KOSSWIG and the large settlements of GOTTIN, KRANE, GOLZOW, GREBEN, GERSZKE, REETZ. Fighting on May 3, the troops of the front took 23,700 Nazi men and officers prisoner and captured 57 enemy aircraft at aerodromes.
According to additional information, among those taken prisoner in BERLIN were Lieutenant-General (police) GEHRUM, police president of the city of Berlin; Major-General (police) HEINBURG, Berlin police chief; Brigadenfuehrer-SS MONKE, security chief of the imperial chancellery; Major-General (medical service) SCHREIBER, chief of the medical service of the Berlin garrison; Lieutenant-General (medical service) BRECKENFELD, Red Cross chief of the city of Berlin and the Brandenburg Province; Major-General RAUCH, Commander of the 18th Motorized Division.
The troops of the 4th UKRAINIAN Front, pursuing the offensive in the West Carpathians, took by force the town of WIGSTADTL (WITKOW) and the large settlements of PUSTEJOV, MOSNOV, BRUSPERK, DOMASLAVICE, OSTRAVICE, HORNI BECVA, VELKE KARLOVICE, HOVESY. Fighting in May 3, the troops of the front took over 1,000 Nazi men and officers prisoner.
The troops of the 2nd UKRAINIAN Front, fighting east of the town of BRNO, took by force the large settlements of LUZNA, POZDECHOV, JASENNA, VISOVICE, SLUSOVICE, LUZKOVICE, KVASICE, TESNOVICE, VAZANY, ZLOBICE, KRENOVICE. The situation did not change considerably on the other sections of the front. On May 3, 50 German enemy and self-propelled guns were disabled and destroyed on all fronts.
