The Central Group of the Red Army was on the offensive west of the Oder and the Neisse, dislodging the enemy from the towns of Bad Freienwalde, Wriezen, Seelow, Lebus, Klitten, Niessky, Spremberg and Hoyerswerda and approaching the towns of Kamenz and Bautzen on the Dresden approach. Southwest and south of Ratibor, the 4th Ukrainian Front forces overcome the enemy, chasing it out of Komarow, Mokre Lazce, Chabicov, Piszt, Kreuzenort, Neuederfehl and Olsa. In Austria north of Vienna, the 2nd Ukrainian Front forces continued their attack, driving the adversary from the settlements of Alt Hoflein, Ginzersdorf, Erdberg, Wetzelsdorf, Ameis, Staatz, Wultendorf, Frattingsdorf, Poysdorf, Niederleis and Steinbach and railroad stations of Schlotz and Niederleis.
Reconnaissance operations and local fighting continued throughout the rest of the front. On April 19, 129 enemy tanks and self-propelled guns were damaged and destroyed and 140 enemy aircraft were downed in aerial combat and by anti-aircraft guns on all fronts.
