On March 15, the offensive of the 3rd Belarussian Front forces southwest of Königsberg resulted in the Red Army reaching the coast of the Frisches Haff Bay and taking the settlements of Wangitt, Dumpelkrug, Pinnau, Albehnen and Einsam. The town of Heide Waldburg, which is 8 km southwest of Königsberg changed hands several times and was finally captured by the Red Army. Thus, reaching the Frisches Haff Bay coast, Soviet troops divided the East-Prussian enemy grouping into two. Simultaneously, the front forces seized the settlements of Kobbelbude, Sollecken, Perwillen, Wargitten, Kammershofen, Albenort, Grunwehr, Albeneck, Bladiau, Gross Rodersdorf, Schonrade, Marienhohe, Hormsdorf, Kahlwalde, Eisenberg, Friedrichsruh, Friedhofhen, Vogelsang and the railroad station of Kobbelbude. During March 14, over 1,000 prisoners were taken in the area.

In Kohlberg, the Red Army carried on mopping up the enemy troops isolated in the eastern part of the town.

In Hungary, northeast and east of the Lake Balaton, Soviet troops warded off the attacks of enemy tanks and infantry. On March 14, Soviet artillery destroyed and damaged 50 German tanks and self-propelled guns.

Reconnaissance operations and local fighting continued on the other parts of the front.

90 enemy tanks and self-propelled guns were damaged and destroyed and 18 aircraft were downed on all fronts on March 14.
