In the course of February 3, in EASTERN PRUSSIA, our troops continued their offensive, during which they seized over 30 settlements, including SPITTEHNEN, EICHHORN, HAUSHAGEN, REICHENBERG, PETERSWALDE, GRONA, SOMMERFELD.

North and northwest of the town of SCHNEIDEMUHL, our troops took by force the towns of FREUDENFIER, SCHLOPPE and seized over 40 other settlements, including JAGDHAUS, KLAWITTERSDORF, SAGEMUHL, KWIRIM, KARLSRUHE, ARNSFELDE, RUSCHENDORF, MELENTIN.

Northeast and east of FRANKFURT-AM-ODER, our troops, continuing the offensive, seized the towns of WITZ, SONENBURG, ZIELENZIG, REPPEN, STERNBERG and took by force over 150 other settlements. Northeast of KUSTRIN, our troops surrounded a large group of Nazi troops in the woods and, after a stubborn battle, completely routed them, capturing the following trophies: 163 guns, 55 mortars, 167 machineguns, 1,626 cars, 500 motorcycles, 200 carts loaded with military cargoes. A total of 9,450 Nazi men and officers were taken prisoner. A total of 8,000 corpses of Nazi men and officers were left on the battlefield.

In BUDAPEST, our troops continued fighting to eliminate the enemy garrison encircled in the western part of the city (BUDA) and seized ten blocks.

East and a southeast of the town of SZEKESFEHERVAR, our troops advanced by about 20km, seizing over 60 settlements, including the large settlements of KISVELENCE, GARDONY, ADONY-SZABOLCS, PERKATA, HERCEGFALVA, SARBOGARD.

Reconnaissance raids and local fighting in a number of areas were reported on the other sections of the front.

On February 2, 176 German tanks were disabled and destroyed on all fronts. 21 enemy aircraft were brought down in aerial combat or by anti-aircraft guns.
