On March 29, the 3rd Belarussian Front troops finished mopping up the encircled West-Prussian group of German forces southwest of Königsberg. From March 13 to 29, the enemy lost over 50,000 personnel as prisoners of war and 80,000 killed in action. At the same time, the Front’s troops captured 128 aircraft, 605 tanks and self-propelled guns, more than 3,500 field guns, 1,440 mortars, 6,447 machineguns, 586 armored personnel carriers, 247 radios, 35,060 wheeled vehicles...

On March 28, the 3rd Belarussian Front troops continued mopping up the remainder of the defeated enemy in the vicinity of Cape Kalholzer Haken southwest of Konigsberg. On March 27, the Front’s forces captured 222 field guns, 223 mortars, 430 machineguns, 22 armored personnel carriers, 35 radios and 1,500 wheeled vehicles.

On March 27, the 3rd Belarussian Front troops were mopping up the enemy southwest of Konigsberg in the vicinity of the cape and took the settlements of Wolittnick, Schnakenberg, Follendorf and Lindenberg. On March 26, our forces captured eight aircraft, 113 tanks, 66 armored personnel carriers, 594 field guns, 350 mortars, 1,100 machineguns, 30 radios, 200 tractors and prime movers...

On March 26, the 3rd Belarussian Front forces finished mopping up the enemy on the Frisches Haff Bay coast, southwest of the city of Königsberg and took the settlements of Gross Hoppenbruch, Reinschenhof, and Deutsch Bahnau and the Rosenberg port and flung the remainder of the defeated enemy back to Cape Kahlholzer Haken. According to preliminary reports, the Front’s troops captured more than 21,000 prisoners in the area on March 26.

On March 25, the advancing 3rd Belarussian Front troops took the town of Heiligenbeil, the last German strongpoint on the Frisches Haff Bay coast, south-west of the town of Königsberg as well as took the settlements of Partheinen, Rensegut, Keimkallen, Bregden, Steindorf, Carben, Preussisch Banau, Schettnienen, Gerlachsdorf, Raade, Leysuhnen, Busterwalde, and Raunenberg.

On March 24, attacking towards Danzig, the 2nd Belarussian Front troops took the town of Praust and the settlements of Rosenberg, Langenau, Zipplau, Gischkau, Rottmannsdorf, Straschin, Jenkau, Bankau, Hochkelpin, Klein Kelpin, Goldkrug, and Wittomin. On March 23, the Front’s troops captured more then 1,000 prisoners in the region.

On March 23, the 3rd Belarussian Front’s troops fought to mop up the enemy at the Frisches Haff Bay coast in the vicinity of the town of Heiligenbeil. On March 22, the Front’s troops captured 1,600 prisoners. The 2nd Belarussian Front’s troops, advancing the attack in the direction of Danzig, took the town of Zoppot and appeared at the coast of the bay of Danzig between Gdynia and Danzig, cutting the enemy into two parts...

Southwest of Königsberg, the 3rd Belarussian Front forces fought on March 22 to defeat the enemy blocked near the coast of the Frisches Haff Bay in the vicinity of Heiligenbeil and drove enemy troops out of the settlements of Mukuhnen, Gabditten, Schirten, Heinrichshof and Helenenhof. On March 22, the Red Army captured more than 800 prisoners in the area.

On March 21, southwest of Königsberg, the 3rd Belarussian Front forces continued to destroy the East Prussian enemy grouping and, approaching the Frisches Haff Bay coast, took the settlements of Bolbitten, Stuthenen, Newecken, Grunau, Radau and Alt Passarge. According to additional information, in the battle for the town of Braunsberg, the Red Army captured 204 tanks, 25 armored personnel carriers, 109 mortars, 204 machineguns, 1,050 wheeled vehicles, 5 steam engines, 633 railroad cars and 17 depots.

On March 20, the 3rd Belarussian Front forces kept on defeating enemy forces in the East Prussia, during which they took the town of Braunsberg – a formidable German strongpoint on the coast of the Frisches Haff Bay – and dislodged the enemy out of more than 40 other settlements, e.g. Fedderau, Wesslienen, Cordommen, Rauschnick, Thomsdorf, Wermten, Hammerrsdorf and Neu Passarge. During March 19 and 20, the Front’s forces took there over 4,000 prisoners as well as over 300 guns.
