In the course of February 7, south of the city KONIGSBERG, our troops fought offensive battles during which they seized over 30 settlements, including LIPNICKEN, SOLLAU, POSMAHLEN, LEIDTKEIM, LAMPASCH, POSCHLOSCHEN. On February 5 and 6, in the area of KONIGSBERG, our troops took 2,260 Nazi men and officers prisoner.

North and south of the town of KUSTRIN, our troops fought to clear the east bank of the ODER river of the enemy, seizing the settlements of ZEKERIK, ALT LITZEGERIKE, GUSTEBIESE, HELSE, KLOWITZ, ALT-DREWITIZ, TRETTIN, KUNERSDORF, AURITZ. In the fighting in this area on February 5 and 6, over 4,000 Nazi men and officers were taken prisoner and 69 enemy aircraft captured at aerodromes.

Southeast of BRESLAU (BRESLAVL), our troops, continuing fighting to expand the bridgehead on the west bank of the ODER, seized over 50 settlements, including the large settlements of MARZDORF, WURBEN, GROSSBURG, LICHTENBERG, DEUTSCHE-LEIPPE, MICHELAU, BORKENHEIN, WOLFSGRUND, EISENAU, PREUSSFORF. In the fighting in this area on February 5 and 6, over 4,200 Nazi men and officers were taken prisoner and 28 enemy aircraft captured at aerodromes.

In BUDAPEST, our troops continued fighting to eliminate the encircled garrison of the enemy, seizing ten blocks. In fighting in the western part of the city (BUDA) over 5,600 Nazi men and officers were taken prisoner.

On February 6, our troops, fighting on all fronts, disabled and destroyed 140 German tanks. A total of 26 enemy aircraft were brought down in aerial combat or by anti-aircraft guns.

During the offensive in the central section of the front from January 12 to February 4 this year, the following Nazi commanders WERE TAKEN PRISONER: Lt. Gen. RITTBERG, commander of the 88th Nazi infantry division; Maj. Gen. LISS, commander of the 304th Nazi infantry division; Lt. Gen. LUBBE, commander of the 433rd Nazi infantry division; Col. BRUCKS, commander of the 17th Nazi tank division; Col. WIAL, commander of the Tenth Nazi motorized division; Col. DRABICH-WECHTER, chief of staff of the 42nd Nazi army corps; Col. ROSEN, commander of artillery of the of the 42nd Nazi army corps; aviation Gen. MANKE, department head of the aviation ministry; Gen. WESSEMANN, head of the 39th labor military district.

Among the killed Nazi men and officers, the corpses of the following Nazi commanders were found: infantry Gen. RECKNAGEL, commander of the 42nd Nazi army corps; infantry Gen. BLOCK, commander of the 56th Nazi tank corps; Lt. Gen. RHEIN, commander of the 69th Nazi infantry division; Maj. Gen. HOHN, commander of the 72nd Nazi infantry division; Maj. Gen. GIRSCHFELD, commander of the 78th Nazi infantry division; Lt. Gen. KIRBACH, commander of the 214th Nazi infantry division; Maj. Gen. FINGER, commander of the 291st Nazi infantry division; Lt. Gen. NICKEL, commander of the 342nd Nazi infantry division.

In Eastern Prussia, south of the city of Konigsberg, our troops continued the offensive, reaching the enemy’s strongly fortified permanent defenses near the Posmor River. During fierce battles, Soviet units forced the river, seizing the Preussisch-Eylau stronghold on its left bank. On that day, over 3,000 enemy men and officers were eliminated and 28 tanks and self-propelled guns put out of action.
