In the course of February 12, our troops seized, as a result of fighting north and northwest of the town of BYDGOSZCZ (BROMBERG), the town of SCHWETZ and over 120 other settlements, including GROSS ZAPPELEN, GATZKI, SCHIROSLAW, EDRZEJEWO, BLONDZMIN, LUBIWO, LIEBENAU, DRAUSNITZ, PLOTZIG.

According to specified data, during the elimination of the Torun group of the enemy and the seizure of the town of TORUN (TORN) – from February 1 to February 9 – the troops of the 2nd BELARUSSIAN Front took 15,000 Nazi men and officers prisoner and captured the following trophies: 270 guns, 700 machineguns, 7,500 rifles and submachine-guns, 1,200 motor vehicles, 800 carts loaded with military cargoes, 2,000 horses, 202 ammunition dumps and ration supply depots. The enemy left over 13,000 corpses of men and officers lying on the battlefield.

North-west of the town of SCHNEIDEMUHL, our troops, continuing the offensive, seized in German POMERANIA the towns of TUHTZ, KALLIS, NEUWEDEL and took by force over 40 other settlements, including the large settlements of ALT CORTNITZ, BALSTER, GUTSDORF, WILDORF. Fighting in this area on February 11, our troops took over 1,300 Nazi men and officers prisoner.

Troops of the 1st UKRAINIAN Front, developing the offensive west of the ODER river, took by force on February 12 in German Schlesien the town of BUNZLAU, an important communications center and enemy defensive stronghold on the BOBER River, as well as over 100 other settlements, including the large settlements of RAUSCHWITZ, OTTENDORF, GIESMANSDORF, OBERLESCHEN, KITTLITZTREBEN, NIEDERSCHONFELD, THOMASWALDAU, VOITSDORF. Fighting in this area on February 10 and 11, the troops of the 1st UKRAINIAN Front took over 3,000 Nazi men and officers prisoner, and captured a hundred enemy aircraft and 200 heavy gliders at aerodromes.

Troops of the 4th UKRAINIAN Front, continuing their offensive in the difficult conditions of a forested mountain area in the CARPATHIANS, stormed the town of BELSKO, a major communications center and a powerful enemy defensive stronghold on the approaches to MORAVSKA OSTRAVA, on February 12 and took by force over 30 other settlements, including the large settlements of STRUMEN, GOLIASOWICE, PRUCHNA, RUDZICA, JASENICA, JAWORZE, WILKOVICE, BUCKOVICE.

In BUDAPEST, our troops, crushing enemy resistance in the western part of the city (BUDA), seized over 200 blocks, including the royal castle and the old fortress and by the end of the day, completed the elimination of the remnants of the encircled enemy garrison. According to confirmed data, fighting in the western part of the city (BUDA) on February 11 and 12, our troops took over 30,000 Nazi men and officers prisoner.

Reconnaissance raids and local fighting in a number of areas were reported on the other sections of the front.

On February 11, 125 German tanks were disabled and destroyed on all fronts. A total of 43 enemy aircraft were brought down in aerial combat or by anti-aircraft guns.
