In the course of February 2 in EASTERN PRUSSIA, our troops, continuing their offensive, seized the towns of DOMNAU, SCHIPPENBEIL, GUTSTADT and took by force over 50 other settlements, including GERMAU, ROMITTEN, SCHONBRUCH, LANGENDORF, LANDSKRON, JUDITTEN, LISIEN, TROMITTEN, REDDENAU, PETERSHAGEN, SUSSENBERG, STOLZHAGEN, ALTKIRCH, BEISWALDE, LAUTERWALDE.

In the area of SCHNEIDEMUHL, our troops fought to eliminate the encircled enemy garrison.

Northeast and east of FRANKFURT-AM-ODER, our troops took by force the towns of SOLDIN, DROSSEN and seized over 150 other settlements, including the large settlements of STAFFELDE, ALT LIMMRITZ, RADACH, MAHLSOW, WALLWITZ.

In the area of POZNAN, fighting to eliminate the enemy units encircled in the city continued.

West of the town of LESZNO (LISSA), our troops reached the bank of the ODER River, seizing the large settlements of KOLZIG, KONTOPP, LIEBENZIG, BOYADEL, PIRNICH, LIPPEN.

In BUDAPEST, our troops continued fighting to eliminate the enemy garrison encircled in the western part of the city (BUDA) and seized 23 blocks.

On February 1, 133 German tanks were disabled and destroyed on all fronts. A total of 26 enemy aircraft were brought down in aerial combat or by anti-aircraft guns.

In Eastern Prussia, our troops continued their offensive. The Nazis are sustaining heavy losses in battles. The enemy East-Prussian group, cut off from the central regions of Germany, is striving to hold its occupied positions at any cost. Nazi officers and special SS commands shoot their retreating soldiers on the spot.

Soviet troops, launching powerful attacks against the enemy, are closing the circle around the enemy group. Northwest of Konigsberg, the Nazis have been dislodged from the stronghold of Germau, situated 6 km from the Danzig Bay coast. Southwest of the town of Insterburg, our troops, overcoming the Nazis’ stubborn resistance, advanced by 10 km and seized the town of Domnau. Other Soviet units, advancing along the Alle River, seized the town of Gutstadt, as a result of a nighttime tank and infantry attack. In one day of battles, over 4,000 Nazis were killed and 70 enemy tanks, armored vehicles and armored personnel carriers put out of action and burnt. A total of 800 Nazis were taken prisoner.
