In the course of February 5, northwest of KONIGSBERG, our troops continued fighting to clear the Samland peninsula of the enemy, during which they seized several settlements, including WATZUM, GROSS LADTKEIM, TIERENBERG, KALLEN, POWAYEN.

North and southeast of FRANKFURT-AM-ODER, our troops forced their way to the ODER river, seizing the town and railway station of GORITZ and over a hundred other settlements, including the large settlements of ZELLIN, NEUEMUHL, ALT SCHAUMBURG, TIRPITZ, REIPZIG, MATSCHDORF, RAMPITZ, SCHONFELD, GUNTERSBERG, REDNITZ.

In the city of POZNAN, fighting to eliminate the encircled garrison of the enemy continued. In the city, our attacking units seized an arms-manufacturing plant, where they captured 58 guns, 1,250 light and heavy machineguns, 130 submachine-guns and 1,500 rifles.

In BUDAPEST, our troops continued fighting to eliminate the encircled garrison of the enemy, seizing 16 blocks.

Southwest of BUDAPEST, our troops, seized, as a result of the attacks carried out, the towns of SEREGELYES, SZARASZD, ABA, SARKERESZTUR, SZILAS-BALHAS.

Reconnaissance raids and local fighting in a number of areas were reported on the other sections of the front.

On February 4, 136 German tanks were disabled and destroyed on all fronts. A total of 56 enemy aircraft were brought down in aerial combat or by anti-aircraft guns.
