On September 28 to the northwest and west of the town of PJARNU (PERNOV), our forces wiped all separate enemy groups out of the western coast of Estonia and secured over 200 settlements, including such important points as PAGAZI, LIHULA, MATSKULA, VIRTSU, MURISTE, HELMKULA, KULLI, TISTAMA, SARVI, SAULEPA, and railroad stations of LIHULA, KARUZE, and VIRTSU.
On their way to RIGA, our forces fought relentlessly to secure over 50 settlements, including GARSMUIZA, BIRZKALNS, LEDURGA, LODE, KRALLIS, INIIEMS, and DOBES.
To the south and southeast of the town of SANOK, our forces, acting on mountainous and forest-clad terrain, secured 30 settlements, including the settlements of LUPKOW, ZUBENSKO, SOLINKA, BUKOWEC, TURECZKI, BORYNA, JABLONOW, ZAVADKA, and the railroad station of WOLA MIHOWA.
Elsewhere on the front reconnaissance operations and local combat engagements went on.
On September 27 the Soviet air and air defense forces downed 9 enemy aircraft.
