On October 5 in Yugoslavia, to the north and south of the town of PETROVGRAD, our forces, together with units of the People’s Liberation Army of Yugoslavia, took the town and railroad junction of PANCEVO and more than 50 other settlements, including the major settlements of ALEKSANDROVO, BASAJID, MELENCI, MUZLJA, ECKA, CENTA, BARANDA, OPOVO, SEFKERIN, GLOGONI, VOILOVICA, STARCEVO, and the railroad stations of NOVA KIRNIJA, CESTEREK, MELENCI. According to verified information, our forces seized 76 enemy aircraft on the airfields near PETROVGRAD and VRASAC.
Reconnaissance operations and local fighting were reported elsewhere on the front.
On October 4, our forces destroyed 37 German tanks in local engagements.
